Growing up in Southern California, I was surrounded by an incredible blend of cultures, each with its own traditions, aesthetics, and way of life. I was fascinated by both the similarities and the differences, and how seamlessly they coexisted. This richness showed up everywhere, from the people to the food, to the design details that made each culture feel distinct yet connected.
That environment sparked a curiosity in me to understand where these traditions came from and how they evolved over time. What I experienced felt like a fusion, a beautiful adaptation of cultures in a new place, but I wanted to go deeper. I wanted to understand the origin of it all.
That curiosity naturally led me to storytelling. I was drawn to film and media, where stories from around the world could be shared and preserved. I was inspired by the idea that you could experience a place, a culture, and a perspective without ever leaving your home, and even more inspired by the opportunity to help tell those stories.
As my love for travel grew, so did my desire to hold onto those experiences in a tangible way. I began collecting pieces from the places I encountered, objects that carried meaning, craftsmanship, and a sense of place. Each one became more than something I owned; it became a memory. A feeling. A story.
Over time, I realized our homes have the power to tell stories too. They can reflect where we have been, what inspires us, and how we see the world.
That realization became the foundation for Jaleh Living. A space created to bring the world into the home through pieces that feel intentional, meaningful, and inspired by cultures across the globe. It is about more than décor; it is about connection, surrounding yourself with objects that carry a story, a history, and a sense of soul.
Through this journey, I have fallen in love not only with discovering new places, but with capturing them through photography, sourcing, and design. Every collection is an extension of that process.
I chose to begin with a collection rooted in my upbringing, shaped by the cultures that have influenced my perspective and defined my design aesthetic from the very beginning.
For my first collection, I was drawn to Persian culture, rich in history, artistry, and traditions of hospitality and beauty. From intricate patterns to the warmth of gathering over tea, there is a sense of intention woven into everyday life.
It is a culture that does not just value beauty, but lives in it.
This collection is my interpretation of that essence, a celebration of texture, color, and craftsmanship designed to bring depth and story into your home.
