Shaped and hand-painted in Kütahya, Turkey's historic center of ceramic artistry, this fig sculpture carries a tradition of craftsmanship that has passed through generations of artisans. Each piece is formed and painted using the underglaze technique. Natural pigments applied by hand before glazing, then fired at high temperature to seal the color beneath a glossy finish that holds its depth for years.
Its form draws from the fig, a fruit long woven into the folklore and hospitality traditions of the wider region, a fitting companion to the Persian Collection's sense of gathered abundance and quiet richness. Every vase is hand-painted, which means no two are ever quite alike.
