Baluch Runner

Woven entirely from memory, without a pattern to follow, a technique called Zehni-baft, in which the weaver holds the design in mind and adapts scale and motif in real time.

Its construction points to the Baluch people of Persia. Hand-knotted wool pile sits on a cotton foundation, with remnant cotton yarns worked through the geometric motifs. A practical choice that became a signature: subtle color highlights found nowhere else in the field. Vegetable-dyed, softened by time.

Made without a fixed plan, it exists as a single, unrepeatable piece.
